Join Chloe as she makes a birthday cake for her mother, all by herself, of course!

About the author image
Barbara Revsine has been writing about food and restaurants for decades. Her resume includes The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun-Times, Wine Spectator, Epicurious, Travel & Leisure and numerous trade publications. This is her first book, however. Once you have shared the adventure with Chloe and her grandmother, you can use the recipe guidelines to create your own cakes. And if you send a photo of one of your finished cakes, along with a list of the ingredients you used, we'll post it on social media (with your permission, of course).

An English major, Barbara graduated from Northwestern University, as did her late husband Lawrence Revsine, who was a professor at The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern. The couple's daughter Pamela lives in Austin, Texas with her husband Rob and a dog named Gibbs while their son David and his wife Michele live in suburban Chicago with their three daughters and a dog named Riley.
